1. eSafety Portal News - Be the 100th school to receive the Label
With the second half of December being a festive season, there were less total activities on the eSafety Label Portal. This being said, there were nonetheless new registrations and submissions. There are now almost 100 schools with an eSafety Label. We want to celebrate this with a trip to a Safer Internet training meeting in Bratislava, Slovakia on 18-20 March 2014. What do you have to do? Be the 100th school to receive the eSafety Label!
The year of 2013 was a good year for the eSafety Label: 4300 unique visitors browsed the website, which amounted to a total of about 50 000 page views. The ten most active countries in descending order are: Belgium, Portugal, Czech Republic, Spain, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Estonia, Croatia, Cyprus and Bosnia Herzegovina.
2. Safer Internet Day 2014
The 11th Safer Internet Day will be celebrated worldwide on Tuesday 11 February 2014. The theme for the day is: "Let's create a better internet together". We hope that together with your colleagues, your pupils and maybe even their parents you will do SID activities to build a better internet for all.
Find out about Safer Internet Day in your country and how to participate at www.saferinternetday.org
. You can also contact the SID helpdesk at SIDemail@example.com
if you would like further information on how to get involved in SID.
In last month’s poll we asked for the reasons why you might not have yet submitted the Assessment Form. Your answers were varied: Some found it difficult to gather the information from their colleagues, others wanted to improve some eSafety related changes beforehand, while others simply had not yet found the time. This month we would like to know if your school is going to celebrate Safer Internet Day 2014.
